I got a surprising question during my keynote this week.

Really says a lot about today’s chaos

Kinda made me step back and take a sec to respond.

Here’s the question: is it safe to retire?

I totally get it; this is a big question for lots of people in their 60s & 70s.

Should I keep working through this chaos or should I sell my business?

My answer wasn’t easy.

Next year or two will be solid economically.

After that, the US has big problems to deal with heading into 2033.

Social Security Trust Funds runs out.
US population growth goes to zero.
US debt hits $46+ trillion.

If nothing changes, 2028-2033 will be very bumpy and raises stakes for a crisis.

But after US politicians decide to act (and they will), US will be better.

Think Reagan & Tip O’Neil.

I strongly believe in a LT positive outlook for our country.

It just won’t feel great until we act to fix our problems.

So prepare for it.

Power in Play: The 2026 Midterm Elections

 Hello!

I'm Andy Busch

If things feel crazy in the world today, that's because they are. We are seeing huge shifts in risk and reward, leading to a lot of economic uncertainty and confusion about where we go from here.

As an economic futurist, I do things a bit differently than your typical economist — going beyond analyzing how today's financial policies impact economic growth, to focus on the super-charged trends driving much of today's global chaos and change.
